My Institute Experience

The MATESOL curriculum at the Monterey Institute of International Studies gives teachers an ideal combination of language teaching theory and practical training. We have the privilege of working side by side with the leading professionals in the field. These professors treat us as colleagues; their expectations are high, but their support is tremendous.

ONLINE COURSES

GSLEL Online | LPA Online | Application

The Graduate School of Language and Educational Linguistics currently offers several online courses to language educators around the world. The classes have been developed for an online format, incorporating the interactive principles and pedagogically sound practices used in the classroom teaching found at the Monterey Institute.

These master's level courses are available to pre-service and in-service language teachers and program administrators who require additional training in educational linguistics. Classes are open to Monterey Institute MATESOL/MATFL students and alumni, and to interested language professionals who meet admissions criteria.

The online classes allow teachers unable to attend courses at the Monterey Institute to enroll in classes at a distance, and enrich the experience of students on campus by broadening their perspectives toward the global language teaching community.
