Students who will be enrolled in a degree program at the Monterey Institute for the semester following the summer intensive language program may be eligible to apply for Federal Stafford student loans by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA can be submitted electronically at www.fafsa.edu.gov. Include the Monterey Institute of International Studies Title IV school code which is 001241.
The Monterey Institute is not able to provide financial aid to participants in non-degree programs. However, Summer Intensive Language Program participants may apply for an alternative education loan through the Monterey Institute Office of Student Financial Planning. The application process for private loans should begin at least 90 days prior to the start of the program. Participants who receive financial aid from another educational institution may also want to consider transferring part of the aid they receive to cover expenses for their summer intensive language study.
